Put this in the "Silly But Clever" files. It's great to feed the birds in your garden—throw out a few scraps, nuts or seeds and you'll be rewarded with regular visitors throughout the year. This clever DIY feeder saves you the trouble by funneling your old bread crumbs outside.
This project is a great way to, er, kill two birds with one stone by feeding birds with the crumbs you already have. Take an old cutting board, drill some holes in the top, and attach a funnel and tube to the underside.
You'll need to find a way to feed the tube from your kitchen through to the outside world, and you may be able to make use of an existing air vent in the wall. Make sure that you have a receptacle at the other end of the tube and then you can chop up your bird feed on the board and the tube will deliver it outside while you stay in the warm house.
